The only difficulties typically arise if the wood is being stained, as it can sometimes give blotchy results—using a sanding sealer prior to staining, or using a gel-based stain is recommended.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMaple : \u003c\/strong\u003eFairly easy to work with both hand and machine tools, though slightly more difficult than \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.wood-database.com\/soft-maple\/\"\u003esoft maple\u003c\/a\u003e due to hard maple’s higher density. Maple has a tendency to burn when being machined with high-speed cutters such as in a router. Turns, glues, and finishes well, though blotches can occur when staining, and a pre-conditioner, gel stain, or toner may be necessary to get an even color.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWalnut\u003c\/strong\u003e : Typically easy to work provided the grain is straight and regular.
