Description

Balsa Wood is the lightest and softest of all commercial woods!

Great for model airplanes, fishing lures, carving, musical instruments, and more.

These balsa thins sets are resawn from the same piece so the colour and density will match. We will provide you with 5 pieces of high quality thin Balsa wood. These boards are flat, straight, and ready for sanding.

Choose from:

  • 1/4" x 2-3/8" x 17-3/4" (set of 5 pieces)
  • 1/4" x 2-3/8" x 35-1/2" (set of 5 pieces)

They will require sanding and are coming directly from the bandsaw. Because Balsa is so light you should not have any problems getting them sanded to your liking.

Due to its fine grain, you'll find that Balsa wood takes sanding smoothly and holds paint well. This wood has a coarse texture and light, creamy colour that will provide a versatile base for any of your carving needs. Due to the incredible texture and density of Balsa wood, it can be prone to dents and marks if not handled with care.
